Snow Emergency Levels and what they mean...
During winter weather, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office may issue a snow emergency level based on snow fall amount or icy condition.
Level 1 Snow Emergency
Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads mat also be icy. motorist are urged to drive with caution.
Level 2 Snow Emergency
Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads mat also be very icy. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roads. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work. Motorist should use extreme caution.
Level 3 Snow Emergency
All roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one should be driving during these conditions unless it is absolutely necessary to travel or a personal emergency exist. All employees should contact their employer to see if they should report to work. Those traveling on the roads may subject themselves to arrest.
Please note: The Jackson County Sheriff's Office will not provide written proof of snow level emergencies... If your employer requests such documentation, we ask that you print off snow declarations from the Sheriff's Office Facebook page.

During inclement weather conditions, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office maintains a phone line dedicated to road conditions in Jackson County. Road closure updates include snow levels, flooding, downed trees or public safety indicents.
