The Correctional Facility is responsible for the detention of inmates under the jurisdiction of the Sheriff's Office. The Jackson County Correctional Facility is the only full-service jail in Jackson County.

We opened the Jackson County Correctional Facility in May of 2000. The facility has a capacity of 40 inmates and a staff of 23. The current average daily population is 42, and we have an average of 1285 bookings per year.

The Bureau of Adult Detention has minimum standards that we must comply with. The jail has maintained a 100% rating with that bureau for the last 2 years.

We are required to provide many programs and activities for inmates. Some of these are: Drug & Alcohol Counseling, Anger management, G.E.D. education. Inmates are provided with recreational periods, television and table games.  We also have medical, laundry, and commissary services. Bible study and religious counseling are available as well.
